Woodchip

Production and markets

TPCA currently produces approximately 200 GMT per day of woodchip for paper production and approximately 100 GMT per day for industrial biomass applications.

Paper-production woodchip is supplied to Sun Paper. Biomass woodchip is supplied to an industrial energy operator for use in steam generation.

Production includes both eucalyptus and acacia woodchip and is carried out according to the requirements of the intended application and customer.

Raw material supply

Raw material is sourced from surrounding plantations and from a range of local suppliers, including private farmers, smaller companies and timber traders.

TPCA processes both eucalyptus and acacia. Raw-material supply is organised according to production requirements, available timber sources and the requirements of the intended woodchip product.

Production facility

The chipmill receives and processes eucalyptus and acacia timber through an established production line for conversion into woodchip. The operation includes raw-material handling, infeed and processing equipment, woodchip handling and loading for delivery.

Raw material handling

Eucalyptus and acacia timber is received at the facility from surrounding plantations and local suppliers. Raw material is accumulated and managed to support the mill’s production requirements before entering the processing line.

Material is moved from the receiving and storage areas into the woodchip production process according to production requirements.

Woodchip handling and dispatch

Finished woodchip is handled and loaded at the facility for delivery according to customer and product requirements.

TPCA currently supplies woodchip for both paper production and industrial biomass applications, with production organised around the requirements of these two markets.
