Forestry contracting and woodchip production
Musen’s activities combine practical forestry contracting and field operations with woodchip production through Timber Plantations Chipmill Afa Sole Co., Ltd. (TPCA), a separate company wholly owned by Managing Director Chen Jianguo.
Together, these operations cover activities from plantation establishment and timber harvesting through to the production of eucalyptus and acacia woodchip for industrial customers.
FORESTRY CONTRACTING
Forestry and field operations
Musen provides forestry contracting and related field services for commercial operations across Laos. Work is organised and supervised according to site conditions, client requirements and the needs of each project.
Silviculture
Musen undertakes plantation establishment and maintenance operations, including site preparation, planting, replanting, weeding, fertilising, pruning and related silvicultural field work. Planting material is sourced from established or client-designated nurseries according to project requirements.
Harvesting and Timber Operations
Musen undertakes timber harvesting and extraction operations, organising and supervising field teams according to client and project requirements. Timber transport is carried out using contracted transport providers where required.
Roads and Site Preparation
Musen undertakes forest road construction, land clearing, levelling and site preparation for forestry and related field operations. Work is organised according to site conditions and individual project requirements.
How we work
Delivering the work
Musen organises and supervises field teams according to the requirements of each project. Work is planned around site conditions, client requirements and the resources needed for the operation.
Where required, Musen works with established suppliers and service providers, including nurseries for planting material and contracted transport providers for timber haulage. This allows resources to be matched to the requirements and scale of individual projects.
WOODCHIP PRODUCTION
Timber Plantations Chipmill Afa Sole Co., Ltd. (TPCA) is an operating woodchip production company established on 16 August 2024. TPCA is a separate company wholly owned by Musen Managing Director Chen Jianguo.
The facility processes eucalyptus and acacia woodchip for paper production and industrial biomass applications.

Production and markets
TPCA currently produces approximately 200 GMT per day of woodchip for paper production and approximately 100 GMT per day for industrial biomass applications.
Paper-production woodchip is supplied to Sun Paper. Biomass woodchip is supplied to an industrial energy operator for use in steam generation.
Production includes both eucalyptus and acacia woodchip and is carried out according to the requirements of the intended application and customer.
Raw material supply
Raw material for the chipmill is sourced from surrounding plantations and from a range of local suppliers, including private farmers, smaller companies and timber traders.
TPCA processes both eucalyptus and acacia, allowing production to draw on different available sources according to customer requirements and raw-material availability.
